Three passwords in one file’s history
database.yml has had three different passwords committed over time. Follow one file’s history, list each password, and find the one the team says is still in use.

The ops repository holds config/database.yml. The team says the current password is in a vault, but an old one is still used by the reporting replica.
git log -p -- <file> shows only the commits that touched one file, oldest changes at the bottom.
